Yeah! I finished something...

Here C is with her little friend both of them in brand new actually finished sweaters made by their mommies! Yeah for us!!

Way back towards the begininng of summer, I took a free Saturday workshop class at http://www.sophiesfineyarn.com/ (one of our lys). Anyone knitterly in the area should check these out as they are great fun. The class was to learn how to make a lace edging. Now I didn't go into the class with a plan on what I was going to with the edging when I finished it, which in itself is often the downfall of many of my projects. Once I started working the lace though it was just too pretty and fun to make to not turn it into something. So I knit and knit my little edging until it was large enough to go around C's waist/hip area, then joined it together and then started knitting it in the round going up. After about a thousand mid knit try on sessions, I determined that it was time to start some sleeves. Once those were done, then I knit 2 more sections of lace for the edges of the sleeves. A little mattress stitch later and the sleeves were on! Then all was left was a little crochet edging, (which I don't think made a huge difference), and it was all done. Now for a little confession, I actually got it to the point where all I needed to do was add on the sleeve lace and crochet the edges back in June. I think what finally spurred me on to finish it was a friend's http://www.erinandjillsmommy.blogspot.com/ project. She said that she was going to finish her daughter's sweater and that would look so cute with C's sweater so I decided to just get it done!

Project specs:
Yarn: Lion Brand Microspun (For a cheaper yarn, this stuff is great)
Needle size: Size 5
No pattern or gauge because I made it up as I went along
