Well I was at Sophie's today and a lady came up to me and asked this question. I didn't realize how funny that sounded until I came home and relayed the story to my husband. What could she be talking about you might ask. Well, it started with the entrelac purse class I took in the fall. After learning the basics of the small purse that we knit in the class, I had to modify it which is what I do to most patterns I encounter. I took the little bitty purse and turned it into a project tote. I was planning on felting it which the class sample had not been so I figured I needed to cast on a lot more than I did with the purse.
When I met the lady in question it was at knitting mommys group at our local Waldorf school. At that point I was probably about halfway through with the knitting and it was already just huge. Well I hadn't been back to the group in months and she said ever so often they all wonder what happened to the lady with the giant bag and if I ever finished it. Well I did and is it ever a sight to behold. I was really shocked when finished of the bottom and held it up. I think the pictures speak for themselves. lol
I will have to take a couple of pictures of the felted bag to show the difference and get that up here too.

yeah, so i have gotta see this thing felted down. it's like guessing how many jelly beans are in the jar trying to figure out what size it is now. that's just amazing.

OH MY GOSH!! I have never seen anything so big!! Can't wait to see a picture of it felted, I bet it will be a WONDERFUL tote!!
