Confession Time... Mason-Dixon Knitting

Let me tell you a little bit about this book and the obsessive addiction it causes. Mason-Dixon Knitting is such a refreshing introduction into mindless knitting. Who would've thought that could be as funny and inspiring as it is in this book. I have been a long time reader of Ann and Kay's blog and have always loved there approach to the whole knitblog thing. It is just like sitting down at a local knitting group only you don't actually see anyone's faces. LOL Yes, a lot of the patterns in the book are not completely mindblowing and leave you wondering how in the world they came up with their ideas, but I can honestly say that there isn't a pattern in the book that I don't plan on making. And let's be honest when I am looking for a little mindless knitting, do I really want to have to figure out how many stiches of garter stitch to cast on? Not me, from here on out when I need a fast fun pattern that can be started, put down, continued and finished within a week of carpool lines then this is the book I will reach for. Of course it doesn't hurt that reading their words along with the patterns never ceases to make me chuckle.

Now having said all that you should see how many dishcloths I have knit in the past month or so. The main pattern in the bunch is the Ballband Warshrag from Mason-Dixon Knitting, but I have also found numerous fun patterns out about on the web. One great resource and fun idea for dishcloth knitting that I have found is the Yahoo group Monthly Dishcloths. Anyone out there wanting to join the dishcloth addicted masses should check it out.

Yes that is right... all those dishcloths in a month or so. And that doesn't include the three that have been given as gifts and the two that were too wet to make an appearance for the photo shoot.

It's lovely to see all those dishcloths together, with their various patterns and colors. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who postpones weaving in ends, LOL.

I am awful about weaving in the ends. I usually wait until they are be given away or about to be used! lol
