School Open House

So the kids had their open house at school this week. It was really cute seeing them be so excited to show us their classrooms and meet their teachers. They both have some really interesting science projects that they are running in the classrooms. I can't wait to hear the stories coming home of what happens when this and that critter escape! lol

The highlight of the evening came in H's class. He is in First grade and the are keeping writing journals this year which are basically decorated composition notebooks. The teacher brought in magazines the first week of school and let them cut out pictures and decorate them anyway they wanted. Well, his had a great big picture of a cupcake, some cartoons, flowers and a great big picture of a lamb with a little boy hugging it. AAAH how sweet is that? When I asked hime about his choices of what heput on there he said well because he loves wool and spinning it of course. (Duh, MOM!) His was even more endearing given that the little boy next to him had things like violent cartoons, motorcycles, and sexy women pictures on his notebook. Makes me feel like I am doing something right... some days!
