Almost finished

Here is my finished baby kimono sweater from Mason-Dixon Knitting. I made a few changes. I made it a bigger size with the hopes that my giftee would get a little longer use out of it. For the bottom part of the sweater from the armpits down, I knit stripes in stockinette stitch. From the armpits up I made it solid blue in garter stitch. Now here is my dilemma... buttons or ribbon ties. I think that on first glance buttons seem like they would work best, but I am waffling. I think ribbon ties could make a sweater that could be worn for longer. What do you think?

This looks great!
Ties would make it wearable longer but they are more difficult to deal with on a wiggly baby.
I don't know which is "better', but would say ties only because I think it would look nicer.

Very, very nice choices of mods here. I like the stripes in stockinette and that you did the shoulder area with garter, which will make it comfy.
My thoughts are that with the different visuals going on, a simple button would go nice( I don't know how many you want to put on, but I'd keep it in a matt finish) pick out a color from your stripes and keep it subtle. I could even picture a light color wood button, natural, since the kitchen cotton is "natural". You could always put a second set of buttons further in on the tummy area and crochet loops for the "buttonholes" if you haven't made them already, and that way it would still be adjustable for growing baby.

I love this!!! Are you for hire? I was just thinking that I needed to find the girl something sweater-like to wear this winter. I learned from the boy that coats are way too bulky at that age to get in and out of carseats and all of those buckles. This is precious. Your giftee will be the cutest babe on the block.

I thought I would say the ties, but after reading the comment about wiggly babies, I may change my mind. The sweater is adorable either way.
I've put away and sold all my birdhouse and chipped china mosaics supplies. I'm fulltime into vintage and anique stuff. Some I buy and sell as is. Others I repair or "shabby" until "chic":).

Hey There!
I have enjoyed your blog so far. This is my first visit. I am afraid some of your info is incorrect, however. C still has a gift to open from her most beautiful aunt! You are getting good at your knitting! Impressive.
