lot of fabric and I wanted to get something she could get a lot of use out of. Evidently, this was a good plan as she has already worn it three times since it arrived on Friday! So I gave her the choice of me buying a tie or me making a scarf to finish off her costume. She was very practical and said she wouldn't wear a tie much but a scarf she could use forever. Well, she decided this about Monday last week. So I went to my LYS hunting for Lamb's Pride in the right colors. What are the chances right? They had a very deep burgundy almost brown color and a lemon yellow. I went ahead and got those but wasn't convinced they would work. Then the lady working at the shop that day, Maria, brought over some Alpacas with a Twist Asti yarn in the perfect colors. So I managed to go home with two pretty decent color combos. I went ahead and knit a small section of each in two different stripe patterns to give her some options. I figured she would go for the alpaca yarn, given that she is a spinner herself and that is a big fave and I was right so that night I quickly cast on and got to work. I finished weaving in the ends Saturday night which worked out great considering our first Halloween event was on Sunday. Every year our church goes trick or treating at a local nursing home where the residents hand out candy. It is so sweet to see them so excited to see all of the kids and I think the kids really enjoy it too! So without any further ado here is the Gryffindor scarf finished but not blocked yet as it looked worn yesterday.

Gryffindor Googley Muggley
Well Halloween is right around the corner (tomorrow). I usually make the kids entire costume. This year, however, I lucked out. H is planning on being a cowboy and using the chaps that I made several years ago when C dressed up as Jesse from Toy Story. So that is fun seeing hime wear something she did before. And C is dressing up as Hermione from Harry Potter. I went ahead and bought a Gryffindor robe because it is a
