Knit Mitt Kit Swap Questionaire

Boy is that a tongue twister!

The Questionnaire:
Are you allergic to any fibers? No
What are your favorite colors? Purple and green for sure but I also enjoy most jewel tone colors
Are you a new mitt knitter? No I have knit quite a few mittens at this point
How long have you been knitting mittens? This is my second winter of mitt knitting
Do you prefer solid or multicolored yarn? depends on the pattern. For a really textured pattern I think solid makes the most sense, but for a basic stockinette, I would prefer multicolored
What fibers do you prefer in mitten yarn?Anything soft and squishy and natural
Where do you usually knit mittens? Anywhere... everywhere!
How do you usually carry/store small projects? In a baggie or small plastic basket
What are your favorite mitten patterns?I love all of the norwegian and other ethnic mittens that are out there although I haven't done any yet.
What are your favorite mitten knitting techniques?I would probably use the magic loop technique
What new techniques would you like to try? Fair isle (for norwegian mittens) or something else complex and fun. I am up for a challenge!
What are your favorite needles for knitting mittens? Circular needles. I would love to try out some of the new Knitpicks needles
What are some of your favorite yarns? Lorna's Laces, Cherry Tree Hill, Mountain Colors, or any of the independent hand dyers out there such as Scout
What yarn do you totally covet? For just soft good solid yarn I would have to say either Debbie Bliss's cashmerino or Alpacas with a twist Baby Twist or Highlander
Any pattern you would love to make if money and time were no object?Probably one of the Norwegian/ethnic highly fair isle mittens
Favorite kind of needles (brand, materials, straights or circs, etc)?I generally prefer bamboo type needles that are circular. My current straight favorites are Peace needles
If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be?Alpacas with a twist Purple Landscape yarn
Do you have a favorite candy or mail-able snack?I love all things chocolate, but am up for any fun snacky stuff
What’s your favorite animal?alpaca
Would you prefer super warm mittens or something more like fingerless mitts?I use both so either would be fun
If you were a color what color would you be?Royal Purple
What is your most inspiring image, flower, or object in nature?A field overgrown with all types of different wildflowers.
Anything else you’d like to share with the group today? I collect vintage and interesting knitting spools (like kids use to make i-cording). I also love all things fairy and gnome related. I love vintage fabrics that have fairies and gnomes from the 50's/60's or like what you see coming from the Norway Sweden areas. I for that matter like the retro fabrics with the bold bright colors with great graphics like flowers and other organic shapes
