I have officially entered the blog universe

Here I am...

I have enjoyed reading so many other bloggy/knitty journals, that I just had to join in the fun. I can't wait to share all of my thoughts and accomplishments whether anyone wants to hear them or not!

Right now I am in the middle of several knitting endeavors. I still consider myself a newbie to the knitting world so my projects will most likely not come as a surprise to anyone... Socks and felted purses!

I have become so enthralled with felting purses that I have decided some of my creations need to find new homes. Therefore I will be setting up at local craft shows and trying to sell my wares. After all I love all of my creations so much, that surely I can find other people to love them too... oh and pay to take them home with them!

As far as socks go, I have now finished two pairs. Both of them were the same pattern... a basic top down sock pattern that I got out of the Knitting Experience book by Sally Melville.


The first I made for myself out of Moda Dea Sassy Stripes sock yarn and was so pleased with how they turned out.

I don't love using double pointed needles, but I got through it well enough. I have heard through other's blogs of the dreaded second sock syndrome and so far I haven't gotten stuck by it. Once I finish the first sock I feel driven to finish the second in short order so that I can wear them out in public and show off my fanciwork.

My husband was so impressed with my first socks that I decided to make a pair for him. Unfortunately, once I finished the first sock they didn't quite fit him, so I got those too!

These I made out of Lion Brand Magic stripes sock yarn with heels and toes out of Regia Stretch yarn. I don't know how I like knitting with the stretch yarn but I think it will be good for heels and toes. Hopefully I will be able to get pictures of both of these up soon so you can all marvel with me over the miracle of self-striping yarn. What a great invention that was. Next I need to figure out how to make my own. LOL
